The conditions of the two remaining Virginia Tech students still in the hospital have greatly improved over the past day.
Officials at the University of Virginia Medical Center report that Kristin Julia of Vienna, Virginia and Kirsten Halik of Ashburn, Virginia have stated that the conditions of both girls have been upgraded to good from fair. Both Julia and Halik are 19 years old and lived in the same apartment at 1306 Henry Lane when they were seriously sickened by carbon monoxide on Sunday morning. The other three roommates, Carolyn Dorman of Potomac, Maryland, Nichole Howarth of Chesterfield, Virginia, and Elizabeth Burgin of Ashburn, were released from Duke University Medical Center earlier in the week. The Blacksburg Police Department plans on releasing the results of its investigation into the leak sometime next week. Residents of the building still have not been allowed to move back in and they are all either staying with friends or are in temporary housing provided by the management of Collegiate Suites.
