A large crowd turned out on a beautiful and sunny Saturday for the Montgomery County 4-H Fair, which was held at Sinkland Farm in Riner.
The day-long event, which was sponsored by the Montgomery County 4-H and the Montgomery County Parks and Recreation Department, featured numerous exhibits, along with a horse and livestock show. “We have had a county 4-H Fair for a number of years, but this is the first we have had our fair in this kind of format were we were able to have a horse show, a live stock show and all of our exhibits on the same day and at the same place,” said Michelle Adcock, Montgomery County 4-H Extension Agent. According to Adcock, there were about 50 to 60 4-H’ers exhibiting everything from woodworking projects to sheep. “Having it here at Sinkland Farm gives us more of a public visibility as to what 4-H has to offer and help in recruiting more kids into our program,” added Adcock. A complete list of winners will be posted once it becomes available. For more information about the 4-H program contact Michelle Adcock at 382-5790.
