Law enforcement officers in Montgomery County, Christiansburg and Radford are currently investigating a door-to-door scam targeted toward the elderly, in which several larcenies have taken place this past Friday and Saturday.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, there have been three reports – one on Saturday and two on Friday – were two men posing as police officers, government agents or contractors had approached three elderly homeowners in the area.

While one of the men distracts the victim, the other man goes inside and steals items from inside the residence.

Officials believe the pair are traveling in a silver sport utility vehicle, possibly a Ford Expedition, and also a gray van.

So far, none of the victims have been physically harmed, according to officials.
