A large crowd turned out Saturday evening for the 1st Annual “Pickin” on the Museum musical event held at the Montgomery Museum in Christiansburg.
“This is the first one and we’re hoping to make it an annual event,” said Christiansburg Town Council Member Steve Huppert, who was one of the organizers. “We hope to have things like this downtown once all the projects are completed there.” Those attending Saturday night’s event heard Nancy Smith’s acoustic gospel music, Glen Gardner and Francis Gardner and the B&H Bluegrass Band, along with the Due South Acoustic Jam Band. Along with some great music, there were plenty of Due South BBQ and side dishes, as well as fresh lemonade, ice tea and fruit smoothies from the Coffee Depot. The event was sponsored in part by the Christiansburg Parks and Recreation Department, Coffee Depot, the Town Of Christiansburg, Due South BBQ, the Lewis Miller Regional Art Center and the Montgomery Museum.
