A Floyd man has been arrested and charged with breaking and entering and grand larceny in connection with the theft last week of a 2004 Jeep Rubicon, which may have also been involved in a fatal hit-and-run in Christiansburg.
Anthony Edwards Adams, 47, of Floyd was charged with the two charges by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. According to Lt. Brian Wright of the sheriff’s office, the vehicle in which Adams stole matches the description of the vehicle, which was involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident at around 3:30 a.m. at the intersection of Cambria and South Franklin Streets in the Town of Christiansburg. In that accident, Gregory Maurice Jackson, 22, was thrown from his motorcycle and killed. The vehicle was reported stolen from Duncan Jeep-Isuzu dealership on Route 460 near Blacksburg either Thursday evening or sometime Friday morning, according to Wright. Adams has not been charged with anything related to the accident at this time. Christiansburg Police are still investigating the connect between the Jeep theft and the accident.
